Specialist / Consultant Pediatric Orthopedics (PL)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly qualified Specialist/Consultant in Pediatric Orthopedics to join our medical team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive orthopedic care to pediatric patients, from newborns to adolescents, with a focus on musculoskeletal conditions, deformities, and injuries specific to growing children.

Essential Qualifications

Education Requirements

  • Medical Degree (MD/DO) from an accredited medical school
  • Residency: Completed 5-year orthopedic surgery residency program
  • Fellowship: Completed 1-year pediatric orthopedic fellowship from an accredited program
  • Board certification or eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery

Licensing & Certifications

  • Required: Valid medical license in [State/Country]
  • Board certification by American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS) or equivalent
  • DEA registration
  • Preferred: Additional subspecialty certifications
  • Current ACLS/PALS certification

  • Congenital Disorders: Hip dysplasia, clubfoot, limb deficiencies
  • Spinal Conditions: Scoliosis, kyphosis, spinal deformities
  • Growth Disorders: Limb length discrepancies, angular deformities
  • Trauma Management: Pediatric fractures, sports injuries
  • Neuromuscular Conditions: Cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy
  • Tumor Management: Bone and soft tissue tumors in children

Surgical Skills

  • Minimally invasive pediatric orthopedic procedures
  • Corrective osteotomies and limb reconstruction
  • Spine fusion and instrumentation techniques
  • Arthroscopic procedures in pediatric patients
  • External fixation and limb lengthening procedures
  • Fracture reduction and fixation techniques

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

  • Provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of pediatric orthopedic conditions
  • Perform complex surgical procedures on pediatric patients
  • Manage both elective and emergency orthopedic cases
  • Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient care

Consultation Services

  • Serve as consultant for complex pediatric orthopedic cases
  • Provide second opinions and treatment recommendations
  • Collaborate with referring physicians and specialists
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences

Academic & Research (if applicable)

  • Supervise and train residents and fellows
  • Participate in research projects and clinical trials
  • Contribute to medical literature and publications
  • Present at professional conferences and meetings

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
