Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Behavioral Therapist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide evidence-based behavioral interventions to clients across various settings while maintaining the highest standards of professional care and ethical practice.

Essential Qualifications

Education Requirements

  • Minimum: Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or related field
  • Preferred: Doctoral degree in relevant field
  • Completion of coursework in behavior analysis, research methods, and ethics

Certifications & Licenses

  • Required: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification
  • Valid state licensure (LPC, LMFT, LCSW, or equivalent as required by state)
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
  • Preferred: Additional certifications in autism intervention, trauma-informed care, or specialized populations

Professional Experience

  • Minimum: 3-5 years of direct behavioral therapy experience
  • Demonstrated experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles
  • Experience working with diverse populations (children, adolescents, adults)
  • Background in autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, or behavioral challenges
  • Preferred: Supervisory or leadership experience

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA)
  • Expertise in developing and implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
  • Data collection, analysis, and interpretation
  • Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
  • Knowledge of evidence-based interventions (PECS, social skills training, etc.)
  • Familiarity with behavioral software and data management systems

Job Responsibilities

Direct Service

  • Conduct comprehensive behavioral assessments
  • Develop individualized treatment plans
  • Provide direct behavioral intervention services
  • Monitor client progress and adjust interventions as needed
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation

Collaboration & Training

  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Provide training and supervision to paraprofessionals
  • Conduct parent/caregiver training sessions
  • Participate in team meetings and case conferences

Professional Development

  • Maintain continuing education requirements
  • Stay current with research and best practices
  • Participate in professional organizations
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives

Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Ability to work in various settings (home, school, clinic, community)
  • Physical stamina to work with active clients
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours as needed
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds (if applicable)

Preferred Qualifications
